Yarn Bases

Learn more about all of our high-quality yarn bases.  As always, our merino is 100% mulesing free and all yarns are sourced from sustainable and ethical farms and mills.

Lace Weight Yarns

  • "Cumulus" Baby Suri Alpaca Lace: 75% Baby Suri, 25% Mulberry Silk. 50g, 459 yards. Soft-as-a-cloud Baby Suri is spun around a silk core. This yarn is great held together with another fiber and adds texture and warmth. Alpaca is a great sustainable fiber with lower environmental impact!
  • "Halo" Mohair Silk Lace: 72% Kid Mohair, 28% Mulberry Silk; 50g, 459 yards. Mohair spun with a core of mulberry silk. Excellent when held double with another of our yarns. This is a non-superwash base, please be sure to hand wash and dry.

 

Fingering Weight Yarns

  • Helix 3-Ply Fine Merino Sock (NEW): 75% Extra Fine (19.5 micron) Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Recycled Nylon; 100g, 459 yards. Soft with an excellent drape, but durable enough for socks and other hard wearing items. 3-Ply Construction.
  • “Zephyr” Sock/Fingering (RETIRING): 75% Fine Superwash Merino, 25% nylon; 100g, 437 yards. Tightly plied and with nylon for strength, this yarn is durable enough for socks yet incredibly soft and also great for close-to-body wear.
  • “Squall” Non-Superwash Fingering: 100% Fine Non-Superwash Merino; 100g, 437 yards. Spun from fine 21 micron Merino, this non-superwash yarn has the springiness, body, and grip that you can only get from non-superwash yarn, without the scratchiness thanks to the fine grade of the fiber.
  • “Lustre” Yak-Silk Fingering: 80% Extra Fine Merino (19 micron), 10% yak hair, 10% silk; 100g, 437 yards. More delicate than our Zephyr sock yarn, this has lovely drape, sheen, and warmth.
  • 50/50 Cotton/Merino Fingering: 50% Pima Cotton, 50% Superwash Merino; 100g, 437 yards.
  • Bourette Silk Fingering: 100% Bourette Mulberry Silk; 100g, 437 yards.
  • "Mirage" Mulberry Silk/Merino Fingering: 50% Mulberry Silk, 50% Fine Superwash Merino Wool; 100g, 437 yards. Shiny, smooth, and a bit cool to the touch, this yarn feels lightweight and would be great for warm weather wear. The wool content makes it easier to work with than 100% silk and yet it still has a great drape and shine. 

 

DK Weight Yarns

  • "Spin" DK Superwash Fine Merino: 100% Fine (21 micron) Superwash Merino Wool; 100g, 246 yards. Our most popular basic yarn weight - the 100% merino makes this yarn super squishy, soft, and wonderful for close-to-body wear.
  • “Squall” Non-Superwash DK: 100% Fine Non-Superwash Merino; 100g, 246 yards. Spun from fine 21 micron Merino, this non-superwash yarn has the springiness, body, and grip that you can only get from non-superwash yarn, without the scratchiness thanks to the fine grade of the fiber.
  • "Whisper" Cashmere-Merino DK: 80% Extra Fine (19 micron) Superwash Merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 100g, 246 yards. Incredibly soft and squishy, amazing for close-to-body wear.
  • "Spin" Merino DK MINI: 100% Fine Merino (21 micron) superwash wool; 20 grams, 49 yards.
  • 50/50 Cotton/Merino DK: 50% Pima Cotton, 50% Superwash Merino; 100g, 246 yards.

 

Worsted Weight Yarns

  • "Spin" Worsted Superwash Fine Merino: 100% Fine (21 micron) Superwash Merino Wool; 100g, 219 yards. 100% merino makes this yarn incredibly squishy and soft!
  • "Spin" Merino Worsted MINI: 100% Fine Merino (21 micron) superwash wool; 20 grams, 44 yards. 
  • “Squall” Non-Superwash Worsted: 100% Fine Non-Superwash Merino; 100g, 218 yards. Spun from fine 21 micron Merino, this non-superwash yarn has the springiness, body, and grip that you can only get from non-superwash yarn, without the scratchiness thanks to the fine grade of the fiber.

 

Bulky Yarns

  • "Drift" 3-ply Bulky: 100% Fine Superwash Merino; 100g, 105 yards. Round, defined plies make this yarn work up quickly for thick and squishy projects of your dreams.
  • "Nebbia" Single Ply Super Bulky: 80% Fine Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon; 100g, 76 yards. A quirky single ply yarn with added nylon for durability.
